WWE Network Details


The announcement has been made official, the WWE Network is to be launched on February 24th 2013 (right after Raw) at 11:05pm EST to US Audiences. The UK (and other countries) are expected to start receiving the network by early 2015.

Catch-phrased as “WWE Network: It’s Way Over The Top”, the network will feature 24/7 streaming and a huge VOD library. Users will be able to watch WWE NXT and WWE Superstars live, but will only be able to watch Raw and Smackdown recorded. Furthermore, there will be a host of ‘original programming’ appearing on the network’s streaming service. During the announcement “Legends House” (a type of Big Brother show with WWE Legends), “Wrestlemania Rewind” (an original series featuring comments from stars on their matches and moments), “WWE Countdown” (counting down the top moves, matches, etc. with a different topic per episode), and “The Monday Night War” (which will feature interviews and clips from the war between the WWE and WCW in the 1990’s) were all announced.

The streaming service will be 720p HD on all formats. Those formats include: Xbox One, Xbox 360, Playstation 3 & 4, Smart TV’s, personal computers, tablets, smart phones.

To sign up for the service the WWE promise a three click process via the official WWE website which will give users a username and password which can be used across multiple devices.

    I can’t wait to give them my money. So much to like including getting all the PPV’s for $120 a year. That alone makes it worth it, but the original content makes it even better. Plus, it’ll be on my Roku, which I really like, and basically every device I have. I’m glad they didn’t partner with a cable operator to do this. They’ve truly taken the position that the next generation is direct to the consumer over the internet and frankly I’m all in. I can’t wait to give them my money.
